How To Use Titanium BackUp

As soon as Titanium Backup is installed, the following image will be displayed:
launch Titanium Backup
You can see a ‘X’ facing Dropbox. This means that Titanium Backup is not configured to integrate the backups to the Dropbox.  You must ensure that all the checkmarks are checked. In case any of the checkmarks are unchecked, check out ‘Problems?’ button at the bottom of the screen. Tap it.

How to Schedule a Backup

You do not have to attend Titanium every time. It can function with a schedule like other backup applications. The schedule can be configured by ‘Schedules’ buttonTap it.

A row will be displayed. You must note that ‘Enabled’ does not have a checkmark. ‘Redo backups for newer app versions’ is set as a default job type. Schedule is also not adequate. These settings can be easily changed. Tap ‘Edit’.

Job type should be changed to ‘Backup all user apps+system data’.

You must note that operations that are not typically backup related can also be scheduled. For example, the backups can be deleted for the uninstalled applications by Titanium Backup once in every week.
Once the job type is selected, you only have to schedule a backup.

Set a time which is convenient to you. As soon as the backup starts, the screen is switched on by Titanium. You can easily notice that the backup has started. You must note that you should set a time only when the phone is charging or fully charged. Otherwise, it is possible that the phone consumes the entire battery in the middle of the backup. You must ensure to tap the checkbox ‘Enabled’.
For the basic use of Titanium Backup, these steps are enough. But you must keep in mind another important feature:
Save Previous Backups
While using Titanium Backup, the latest backup of the application is saved by default. This feature does not make the SD card filled up. In case there is enough space, you can increase the number of the recent backups saved by Titanium. You must note that if you are using many applications, it can create a mess on your phone. It is not very useful in case you just have the latest backup.
Therefore, you must keep various versions of every application backup. Titanium Backup can be used as a time machine as it lets you check any version you want. Following are the steps to be taken to configure it:
Go to ‘Menu’ button. Tap ‘Preferences’.
