With the introduction of Google+ in the social networking industry, Facebook is now on its toes. We have witnessed many new changes and developments in Facebook in the past few months.
Though most of the features that have been introduced are relatively new, Facebook has launched a method to solve a basic concern. Even if you forget your password, you can still access the account by taking help from your ‘trusted friends’.

This new method is on the testing mode and will be introduced within few weeks. You will be able to choose 3-5 friends whom you trust. In case you lose the password and are not able to access your account, a code will be sent to your trusted friends by Facebook which can be passed to you.
We all are familiar with the ‘Forget your password?’ procedure. When you lose the password, you click on it and wait for an email that contains another password. Facebook has made things easier for you. In case you forget the password, contact your friends to get the solution i.e the code.
Though this new method does not seem to have additional effective features than the normal method but is very useful in case your account is hacked or you cannot access your email. A new level of security is added as your identity can be verified by your friends very easily than anyone else.
You must remember that it is possible for the hacker to change or remove the settings of your trusted friends. He can make this feature useless, thus, creating a problem for you.
‘Trusted friends’ can be set up through the Security Settings Page. Go to Account, Account Settings and then Security.

Click ‘Trusted Friends’. Go through the friends list and select at least five friends.

Various other security tools are offered by Facebook which are not very popular. You can get a password that can be used temporarily to access the public computers. You can also sign out from your account remotely.
A new feature has also been introduced where different passwords can be used for the third-party apps. Check out the Account Settings to use this feature and check out App Passwords section in Security tab.
