Because of regular usage, a lot of clutter gets accumulated in the Windows systems. As a result, it affects its speed and performance. This is the most common problem faced by many companies.
CCleaner and Soluto are conceptualized to solve this concern and are used worldwide. The recent addition is DrivePurge.
It is a new app that has been launched some weeks ago. DrivePurge is very simple to understand and is available for free.
Language Menu
In case you do not know German, you need to start from this menu. DrivePurge starts in German language by default. English is already preinstalled in it. The language can be changed with just a click.
There is no need to start the app again. After choosing the language of your choice, check out the other areas of your interface.
System Cleanup
DrivePurge has four tabs. ‘System Cleanup’ is its first tab. There is nothing on details pane because there are no recommendations on DrivePurge. Check menu entries which you want to be analyzed by DrivePurge. Click on ‘Analyze’. The progress bar will be displayed.
Once the process is finished, some recommendations will be displayed by DrivePurge. These are similar to what is displayed by CCleaner etc. DrivePurge is very organized. You can also view the amount of space taken by each item.
The only drawback is that the list is not sorted out by size. Once the process is finished, click on ‘Cleanup’. You will get one more prompt.
The app could have added a feature where it displayed what was being cleaned and took our permission before cleaning it. At present, whatever is found in the scan is cleaned by the app. The files which are selected before the scanning begins are known as ‘selected files’.
After the scanning, whatever is found is cleaned. You must use the cleaning applications for the system very carefully. You must check what you are going to delete. Cleaning your system without taking such precautions could be dangerous.
User Tracks Cleanup
A large number of apps are given by this tab which can be checked by the program for traces. Flash cookies, recently used files etc are included in these. DrivePurge does not give a detailed analysis which can be a barrier. For example, if you want to remove few of the flash cookies, there is no method to select those. It will delete all the flash cookies.
Drive Cleanup
DrivePurge should have included a feature in which hard drive could be cleaned. Choose a drive.Choose the file types which are not required. Analyze these.
This process takes lot of time especially if there is a large number of files. The following screenshot shows the files in the C drive.
It shows a crud of 71MB which is a lot. This depends upon the computer systems. There are certain systems where you will find more number of junk files. You must ensure that you check these files before deleting. There can be certain temporary files in the list which you may require later. The app will delete whatever comes in. You must see that the files you require are not in the list to be deleted.
Report
A report is generated after the process is complete. This tab shows the report. The following screenshot displays how a report looks like:
This gives you an idea of what is being deleted by the app and when.
