There is a large number of Android enthusiasts and iPhone fans. But at times, you want a device that has the elements of both the operating systems. General Appearance and Folders
Install Espier Launcher. The screenshot below shows the screen you will see once it is installed. This wallpaper is added in the app by default. You have the option to change it whenever you want. The image shows that the apps are arranged in the iOS-ish style and the browser icon is changed to Safari.
With the launch of Espier Launcher, the app drawer is no longer in use. The apps are scattered on the desktop of your device. These can be arranged in the iOS folders. You can select the app that will stay in dock.
A long tap on the icon will make it jiggle like in iOS. A folder can be created by placing an app on the other. Make sure you are precise. Else, the folder cannot be created.
The folder name can be changed. Espier Launcher is very easy to use. There is no difficulty in opening the folders. It gives an excellent browsing experience.
The homescreen widgets are not accessible if you use Espier. Different kinds of shortcut icons can be placed such as bookmarks, contacts etc but you cannot use widgets. It is not a major drawback as you are more concerned with the look of the iPhone.
Spotlight Search
Spotlight Search is offered by Espier Launcher. You can access it by using the same process which you follow in iOS. You need to swipe towards the right till the time you do not find it.
It lets you search your contacts, apps and media. You get immediate results when you type a search. It also gives you certain suggestions which are related to web searches.
App Switcher Tray
App Switcher Tray will remain at its place. In fact, it gives better functions than the previous one. It is accessible with a single swipe.
The apps which have been recently used can be viewed. A long tap on any app will make it jiggle. These apps can be removed from the app switcher tray by tapping on a red icon.
If you swipe towards the left, you will see the recently used apps. And if you swipe towards the right, apower-control widget will be displayed. This widget will allow you to control brightness, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc. It is similar to the Android’s power-control widget.
Settings and Other Options
You can control many items in Espier. One is the sensor. Turn it on. The icons can be moved between screens by tilting the phone. Tap the icon and hold it till the time it does not start jiggling. Tilt the phone. This will make the selected icon move in between the screens.
There is an auto-arrange feature. It can be turned off. Switch over to another launcher by accessing a launcher switcher.
Espier gives a very smooth performance on an Android device. It supports every device. If you face any problem, go to the preferences of the app. Check out ‘Animations Effects’. Turn it off. If your problem is still not solved, turn off Spotlight Search.
