The voice conversation feature over the internet is gaining popularity. The developers are introducing various free calling options which make the conversation over the web very easy. The most popular app for voice conversation is Skype. It performs fairly well and is giving a tough competition to others.
Multiple options are offered by Skype such as Skype To Go numbers and calling regular phones. But still people prefer a feature where you can make a call from one Skype account to the other. Tangoplays an important role here as it takes the place of Skype for this feature.
Installation of Tango
A video calling alternative for iOS (4.0+), Android (2.1+) and Windows (XP & up), Tango uses your current contact list which is stored on your device. You can start using tango by installing it on both the sides. It is very easy to register and install Tango. It gives an excellent performance and brings excellent results.
Tango saves time by using your contact list very efficiently. There is a drawback in Tango. There is no method to add the contacts manually in the list. In case your device has no list of contacts, Tango will not display any contacts.

Tango requires you to make an account on its installation on your device. You need to include details of your email address and phone number. People can find you on Tango with the help of this information.
You may notice that the Windows interface looks similar to a phone. But this happens by default and you can change it very easily.

Certain settings are offered by the Windows client which can be configured. The iOS and Android clients provide less settings. There is a ‘Skins’ option in these settings. Click it. The skin can be changed from ‘Phone’ to regular Windows.

Tango is ready to use when you complete the above mentioned steps.

Skins are not available on your device. Your contacts will be automatically loaded by Tango once it is installed. You only have to invite your friends and start making calls.
Making and Receiving Calls
Though Tango is designed for mobile devices but it works nicely on Windows. The Windows interface offers many other features even if you do not give much attention to the phone skin. You cannot make the window full-screen. It is relatively small. You can alter its size but there is no option to make it very big. At times, the size of the window is changed on its own.

Tango gives an excellent performance. Your Windows client can be used to make and receive calls. You can also turn the video on or off.

The quality of video is average but you can definitely use it. It works better than Skype. You also have the option to switch between the cameras, check out different views and turn off the video.

Things look better on the mobile. The mobile device experiences a smooth integration of Tango with the interface. You do not need to configure anything. Your contact list will be used by Tango. It is very easy to use. The information, images and names already saved in the address book can be seen.

Tango has not gained much popularity as of now. But it can be used regularly by you provided your friends also use the same. Therefore, you must invite your friends to install the same on their device so that you can talk through Tango.
Inviting Friends
There is a drawback. Only those people can be invited who are already there in the contact list. Though your friends will already be there but it is a limitation when you use it on device which does not have the address book.

Your friends can be invited through SMS or email. Click on ‘Invite’ tab. Select the invitation method. Select the people you want to invite. You have the option to invite many users simultaneously.

In case of a mobile phone, search through your contacts. There is a ‘plus’ icon near the contact. Tap it. This will invite your contact through an email or SMS.

You cannot customize the SMS or email you send to invite your friends. You must let your friends know that you have sent an invitation. Else, they can take it as a spam mail.
