 22:37     tech     No comments

You can find many web browsers for iPad and iPhone in the market such as Opera Mini, Dual Browser, iChromy, Atomic Web, iSwifter etc. If you have used Safari’s iOS version, you must be familiar with its limitations.

There are no standard tab windows, sidebar navigation and hand gesturing features. MoboTab, a company into mobile technology development, has introduced Dolphin- an Android and iOS web browser-that comprises of new and advanced features.

Hand Gestures

Gesture navigation is an excellent feature of this web browser. You only need to draw a predefined symbol or letter to navigate to a particular site. To go to Twitter, draw ‘T’. Similarly, draw ‘G’ to visit Google. You can edit and add symbols and addresses.

You do not need to type the URL to go to the site of your choice while using this feature. The only drawback is that the gesture button has to be tapped for drawing a symbol. The symbol should be drawn by tapping anywhere.

It displays the bookmark panel at the left and tab bar at the right by using three finger gesture navigation. The navigation becomes faster with these features.

In order to go to the top or bottom of the page, you have the option to draw symbols. But again, you have to tap many times on the Gesture button. Other features include a double tap for zooming in and out the page & a multi-touch zoom to enlarge text.

Speed Dial and Webzine

A new feature ‘Speed Dial’ has also been included in Dolphin. In Speed Dial, MoboTab does not include the thumbnail webpage images. But Webzines includes this feature.

Webzines comprises of many preselected websites such as Fast Company, MSN Money, CNN Business and other Yahoo sites. The Webzine websites are divided into various categories like education, family, fashion, politics, news, entertainment, travel etc. When you tap or add on Webzine, the preview articles appear in five sliding pages comprising of the headlines and the initial paragraphs of the articles .

Tapping few pages will not show you the whole story. What you get is the content on a particular page without any ads and other content. The drawback of Webzine is that there is no option to go back to the initial page of the story.

So Webzine generally give preview of the articles and not the complete content.

Sharing Features

Dolphin shares the content only with Twitter and Facebook. You can share stories and webpages from Webzine mode and the regular browser of Dolphin.
